Global Mobility and Immigration Planning

Longer-horizon planning for internationally mobile families, where residence and nationality decisions interact with education, business and succession.

Who it is for

Families and business owners whose lives already span more than one jurisdiction, and who need the moving parts sequenced rather than solved one at a time.

Typical triggers: a child approaching university, a business expanding into a new region, a planned relocation, a liquidity event, or a succession plan that has outgrown a single country.

What it covers

Most clients do not arrive with a programme question. They arrive with a situation: two children who will study abroad, a company with customers in three regions, parents who may need to join them, and a sense that the current arrangement will not hold for another decade.

This engagement treats that as the actual problem.

Sequencing matters more than selection. The order in which you establish residence, acquire a nationality, move tax residence or restructure a holding can determine whether the plan works at all. Doing the right things in the wrong order is a common and expensive error.

Constraints come from outside immigration law. School admission cycles, business licensing, banking relationships, healthcare access and succession rules frequently constrain the plan more tightly than any visa criterion.

Plans need to survive change. Programmes close. Governments change qualifying periods. Families change. A plan that only works if nothing changes for five years is not a plan.

We map the objective, the constraints and the dependencies, then set out a sequence with decision points, and identify what would force a rethink.

What is included

  • Structured discovery across family and business interests

Mapping the actual situation before discussing any programme.

  • Constraint mapping

Education cycles, business obligations, healthcare and succession intentions.

  • Option development including the do-nothing case

Because sometimes the right advice is to wait or not to proceed.

  • Sequenced plan with explicit dependencies

The order of operations, and what each step depends on.

  • Risk register and review triggers

What would break the plan, and when to revisit it.

  • Coordination with your existing advisers

We work alongside your lawyers, accountants and bankers rather than around them.

How it works

  1. Discovery. Family structure, business interests, current residences and nationalities, and the horizon you are planning over.
  2. Objective definition. What success looks like in concrete terms, and which objectives are non-negotiable.
  3. Constraint mapping. Education timetables, business obligations, healthcare needs, existing tax positions and succession intentions.
  4. Option development. Routes that satisfy the objectives within the constraints, including doing nothing.
  5. Sequencing. A dated order of operations with dependencies made explicit.
  6. Risk and review. What could break the plan, what the alternatives are, and when to revisit.

Timelines differ by programme and by the authority reviewing the file. We do not publish indicative durations we cannot source.

Scope and limits

Not included in this service

  • Tax structuring or estate planning Requires qualified specialists in each relevant jurisdiction; we coordinate, we do not advise.
  • Investment, property or banking advice Outside our scope entirely.
  • This is planning, not execution of every element: tax structuring, company formation and estate planning require the relevant qualified professionals, whom we will work alongside.
  • We do not advise on investments, property selection or banking products.
  • Any plan depends on law that can change. We identify that exposure; we cannot remove it.

Questions

How is this different from just choosing a programme?

Programme selection answers "which jurisdiction". This answers "what are we actually trying to achieve, in what order, and what could break it". Clients who start with programme selection often find the programme was never the binding constraint.

Do I need this if I only want one citizenship?

Not necessarily. If your objective is narrow and your circumstances are straightforward, the citizenship or residency advisory service is the right starting point. This engagement earns its place when there are competing objectives, several family members, or a business dimension.

Will you handle the tax side?

No, and you should be wary of an immigration advisor who says they will. We map where the tax questions arise and what needs answering, then work alongside a qualified tax adviser in each relevant jurisdiction.

What if the plan stops working?

We build in review triggers precisely because programmes and circumstances change. A plan that assumes five years of stability is not a plan, and we will tell you which assumptions are the fragile ones.

This page describes an advisory service. It is not legal, tax or immigration advice, and nothing here is an offer or a guarantee of any outcome. Green Apple Consultants is not a government body and does not grant citizenship, residence or any immigration status — every application is decided solely by the competent government authority.
